Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Have you ever noticed that Apple Jacks have way more orange jacks than green? What gives?!

Oh and Hi! I'm alive... Sort of...
Life has been insane, as in SUPER INSANE.
We are doing okay. Adam's IBC business starts up soon (the business program at our school requires them to form a company, create, get approved, and then run a business for a semester). As for me, work is ehhh usual. School is crazy. I've never read so many books in my life! My health is good, which is a nice change. Adam's health last week was less than stellar. He got a crazy infection and an even crazier fever, which scared me. Luckily, he is doing much better.

ANYWAYS, now that you've read the boring stuff... Here are some awkwards and awesomes to feast your eyes upon.

Awesome
-Carving pumpkins! Our pumpkins this year are RAD.
-Watching the leaves change. There is a bright red bush near our complex that was totally green a month ago. SO cool.
-Figuring out that my boss' are okay with me not working a full fifteen hours next semester, so I don't have to find another one. :)
-That shirt in my pictures. I love me a little spark and shine.
-Naps aka the only thing getting me through this semester.
-The fact that in all of my classes right now I have 93% or higher! Mid-semester and I'm feeling good. :) Now let's just see if midterms kill my grades these next couple weeks.
-Hanging out with Emily and Conrad (aka Connie). They have been our friends since we started school here and they are super funny.
-The game Alchemy. If you have a smart phone: Download it. NOW. I totally made the Twilight Saga by mixing vampire and werewolf. Pretty funny.

Awkward
-Falling asleep in class.
-Leaving voice messages. I really need to work on that skill.
-Laughing uncontrollably during our work meeting. Eyes watering isn't my best look.
-Complaining about the 4 hour GRE Prep class and then having a random kid come up beside me and say, "Drop out. Go into the military and get sick retirement. You'll get paid for the rest of your life!" I began to life and found that he was totally serious. I'm sorry, but I'm not military material.
-Having people come over to your messy house unexpected. Embarrassing.
-Tripping up the stairs in the Smith building. Again? Really?

Anyways, that's all I have. Life right now is awesome, but not that awesome or even awkward. I'm kind of just skating right now and looking forward to graduating in two semester after this.
It straight up blows my mind that we are both seniors soon.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

So I'm basically stoked out of my mind that it is Thursday.
Despite my enthusiasm for learning, I am burnt out.
Going back to school after summer can be a shocker!
Anyways, onto the awkwards and awesomes of the first week of school!

Awkward
- Walking into a class, waiting for it to start, then noticing that something isn't right when the freshman begin to take seats next to me... Ya. I went and sat in the wrong classroom as a junior. Feel free to make the "L" shape with your right hand and hold it to your forehead whenever looking at me next.
- Leaning over my work desk and having my boss across the room say, "Evi! Pull your dress down in the back." Apparently that red dress of mine that I posted last Fashion Friday likes to cling to my underwear and ride up. Oops!
- Walking out to our car, after it had been raining, to find that Adam's phone had been left on top of the car and got poured on. Uhhh, what do I say to that? Sorry that happened to your phone...? (Don't worry I revived it with rice)
- While at work, pulling up a student's profile and seeing that they live close to my hometown (I can see their whole address). Therefore, I say, "Oh my gosh! I'm from Orange County, too!" Let's just say that the look I got from aforementioned student was total confusion and she was clearly weirded out. Maybe next time I should explain that I'm NOT stalking the students.
-Unexpected visitors showing up to our messy apartment. I didn't even get a 2 minute clean up warning!
- Literally tripping down the stairs. I know this is a frequent awkward, but truly, its awkwardness never dulls. This time I dropped my frozen water bottle, too. Let's just say it added sound effect.

Awesome
- New school clothes!!
- This semester I have super cool classes that I know will stretch my brain and allow me to learn further tolerance for viewpoints other than my own.
- Costa Vida coupons. Buy one entree get one free! Yes puhlease. So good, I basically died.
- Fresh local corn. I swear it is like CANDY!
- The air is getting cooler... you know what that means? Fall is almost here!
- Scholastic book orders. I thought the days of ordering books ended when I left elementary school. Alas! They did not. I got 7 of them from different age groups. I'm ordering so many books for my future classroom it is not even funny!
- Only working three days a week. I LOVE it. That means the other two days are spent hanging out with Adam!
-We've been married for six months this week and our relationship is better than ever!
- Last, but not least... I am going to Utah next weekend for celebrate my lil sis' 19th birthday! Get excited.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

So it's almost Friday (it's 11:45 PM here in Idaho), but honestly it is still Thursday!
Let's begin!!!

Awkward:
- Not correcting people when they call me Evee instead of saying my name like it should be said, i.e. eh-vee. Got it?! Good. If I don't correct them in the first place, I feel bad correcting them later, and then I'm forever known as Evee... like the Pokemon. Great.
- Talking about gross things with the husband with our window wide open and only realize it when we were hear our neighbor's snickers walk past our open window.
- Dropping your lacy bra at the laundromat for all to see. I'm sorry but that sexy black bra I have, I really don't want the creeper drying his clothes next to me to think about me wearing this aforementioned sexy bra. No. Thank. You.
- Jumping at every little thing after watching four episodes of Criminal Minds (new addiction? I think yes.). Thanks for the heeby jeebies and new addiction Mrs. Rosell!
- Saying a Mormon cuss word, i.e. effed ( In a sentence: I effed up you guys. I'm sorry.) I said this while training employees. I think I found a new habit to break.
- The poor freshmen that have now plagued BYUI's campus. Many of them need help.

Awesome:
- Hanging out with the aforementioned Mrs. Rosell for the last few days. I swear our friendship will make me fat! We ate at College Avenue Deli last night and Olive Garden tonight. Good thing good company always takes away the guilt of being a total fatty!
- Sleeping in for the last couple days. I have seriously enjoyed being with Adam for those few extra hours in the mornings. I swear every moment we spend together I fall even more in love.
- Smart and Fiji Water. Is it weird that sometimes I crave bottled water? Seriously my water addictions can't be helping the green movement.
- Wildlife! We went to Yellowstone this week and floated the river the next day. Between the two days we saw multiple bison, an elk, a moose, and a large large bird of prey swoop into the river right behind us and catch a fish. This is definition awesome. I wish that Summer could last forever.
- My pell grant came through today!!! Holla! We are temporarily rich. Too bad it's going to be spent on all boring adult stuff!
- The meal I cooked Tuesday night was awesome. Crock pot mac n cheese and watermelon. Yummmm.
- Finally, tomorrow begins the weekend again and it's date night. So so so excited :)

Let's just cut to the chase and tell you my surprise...

I CUT MY HAIR!

and even better...

I DYED MY HAIR!

I've dyed my hair before, but only on my own.
This time I pampered myself and not at the expense of my wallet (Thanks Paul Mitchell!).
Anyways, I feel pretty.
I got an ombre dye and just a trim on my hair.
I love it. I'll post good pictures tomorrow when I have natural light to work with.

The last couple weeks have been both awkward and awesome.

Awkward
Being mistaken for a high schooler... AGAIN. When will I actually look my age? Sure I don't wear much make-up, thus giving me the whole "innocent" look. Honestly, people... geez.
Lying in bed for HOURS trying to sleep and pretending to sleep to try to go to sleep.
Having my underwear peek out whenever I bent over at work today. I. Hate. That. You might as well have "Hi, I'm Mormon." tattooed above my buttcrack.
Frizzy braids. I hate it when I braid my hair. 7 AM-- it looks perfect. 10 AM-- not so hot. 1 PM- I get off of work and go home to see that it looks like complete bed head. So much for looking my best at work!
Gas and gas prices... I'll leave that one up to interpretation.
Knocking on someone's door, knowing that they're home, then feeling rejected when they don't open the door.

Awesome
Finding out that aforementioned person who didn't open the door was actually in the bath tub and then not feeling like a reject.
My new hair. 'nuff said.
The stuffed bell papers I made tonight in el crockpot. I could live off of the couscous that I stuffed them with.
Waking up in my husband's arms. Gosh this married thing ROCKS.
The series Arrested Developmemt. We watched all three seasons on Netflix over the last few weeks. Totally hilarious. Any suggestions for another series to get hooked on?
The new bookcase that Adam built me for our living room. I'm in love with it and it was really fun to put our wedding pictures on it.
Pay day. Holla!
Going to the flea market with my friend, Lauren. Ya'll should check out her blog (click here). She's basically one of the most adorable human beings you'll ever have the pleasure of blog stalking. :)
Floating the river and seeing a flippin moose! Hooray for wildlife! Plus, floating the river= free and fun 2 hour entertainment!
The fact that my best friend, Emily (aka Em Mem Memily) will be staying with us this weekend! Hooray for a sleepover!
Anyways, I really should go get ready for bed. After discovering the beauty of going to bed at 9 o'clock last night, I'm thinking right now sounds like a good bedtime.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday: Photobooth Style!

So I thought it'd fun to post both awkward and awesome pictures that I found on my Mac's photobooth. Some are well, embarrassing. Not gonna lie. lol. But I figured it may give you guys an opportunity to really get to know me. Some facts you're going to want to know before seeing these...
One, I sleep with sleeping masks nightly. They're awesome. Don't even try to argue.
Two, a lot of these are from my freshman year here at BYUI.

My first all nighter for my stupid History 101 class. Stupidest class ever.

TOMORROW I am returning to my home.
The place that I grew up.
The place where I get to hug my mom, dad, sisters, and snuggle with puppies all day long.
The place where I actually get a real tan and get to enjoy the glistening ocean.
The place where I will see an Angels game, the US Open of Surfing, and one of my best friends (Kimyaaaaa) within a 24 hours period.
I will enjoy the company of my family AND Adam's family.
We will be spoiled with yummy food (not icky college food).
Am I going to love every second and wish that magically the tectonic plates could shift and allow Idaho to be next to my beloved Southern California?

ABSOLUTELY.

Finally August 5 is here and I'm going to party like there is NO tomorrow.

Awkward

-The stank that tie guys brought into my home yesterday.
- Me saying goodbye to someone on the phone at work as if I was talking to my best friend: "Okay talk to you soon! Bye!" More like I hope I never have to talk to you again and you can figure out your own prerequisites for Hist 487!
-Hating on the weirdos that live in Idaho to my co-work the asking at the end of the conversation nonchalantly, "Where are you from?" Just to learn that he is from a worded city known as Boise. Crap.
-Calling the wrong number, quickly hanging up, the having them call you multiple times over the next couple hours.
-Getting hit on by less than classy characters, dare I say it on this family-friendly blog? They were TOTAL douches. Okay, no more mean/inappropriate words. Had I been in high school I would have loved it. Instead, I replied "No thanks. I can't" to their invitation of "HEY! HEY! Ya pretty thing! Want to go cliff jumping with us?" Keep in mind they had arm muscles wider than their heads and donned swim trunk six inches two short with tank tops. Yuck. Not classy boys. Not classy.
-Being 2 one hundredths of a point away from qualifying for a full tuition scholarship for the next year. Maybe that is just sad...

Awesome
-Adam had his first day of work this week!!! He work at a call center, so be nice if someone calls to do a survey for you.
-Making new friends.
-Having major success making those brownies and subsequently being able to talk to lots of people as we passed them around the complex.
-Going home. Holla!!
-Getting two new followers this week :) and getting the highest viewings in a single day that this little blog has ever gotten.
-Making bombdiggity homemade shakes. I've had one everyday this week. :)
-Finally, pay day. If only I was irresponsible and would buy those hunter rain boots for myself!!!

Awkward
-Falling for stupid internet scams. That was a foul by the hubby. He is hilarious. He genuinely thought that he had won something. Ha. Fool!
-Waking up to a knock on the door. Holy crap. SCARY! I'm in my underwear and of course panic will ensue. What if they walk in?!
-Peeing in the woods. Oh my gosh. Seriously? Camping last weekend... I should write a book, Adventures of Peeing in the Woods
-Creepers wandering into your camp. We thought he was a meth addict at first, turns out he was just a convict that had been released from jail that morning for two DUI's and had cerebal palsey and decided to cut "marshmallow sticks" with something similar to a sharp paring knife. Some of our friends had to take him the hospital because he cut open his hand and we think he passed out. Convict man who acts like a meth addict killed the night. Fail.
-Bug bites on your butt. While this may seem like a TMI, I know that everyone has been there. It sucks. It literally is the itch you can't scratch. Like I said, Adventures of Peeing in the Woods. stupid bugs.
-Finding out Jack on Lost is only four years younger than my dad. Creepy.

Awesome
-Camping. We had a great weekend!! I'll do a post on it. Not gonna lie though it may be after finals. Sorry! Adam is a pro skill camper. Next time we are going to need to do some real cooking-- Spaghettios yeah. Nasty. Never again.
-Cliff Jumping. Yeah you didn't see that one coming did you! Yeah, I cliff jumped. Whaddup?! It was super fun and we had a great time. We went to the Ririe Dam. Idaho is SO beautiful.
-I love my friends. They know how to make me smile. A bunch of my work friends are leaving me at the end of the semester. I love them so much. It's funny how a year of working with these girls has led me to appreciate them and look up to them so much. I truly will miss them and their smiling faces.
-We made BOMB omelettes tonight Healthy and yummy. Sign me up!
-Diet Coke. Oh how I love it. I really do need to lay off of it.
-THREE MORE EPISODES OF LOST.
-A whole bunch of awesome countdowns are going on. Eight days till Harry Potter at midnight. Sixteen days till this darn semester is over, which I'm halfway done with Junior year. CRAZY. Eighteen days till we go to Canada for one of Adam's best friend's wedding celebration thing :) it'll be way fun! I've never been to Canada. Have any of you? Eh?

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Hey peeps!!
So I'm super excited for awkward and awesome thursday today because well this week was pretty awesome.

Let's start with awkward...
-Your neighbors seeing you in your towel dashing between the bathroom and your bedroom due to the fact that some unnamed hubby left the blinds open.
-The fact that BYUI has officially half of the campus under construction, thus making it difficult to get across campus in a timely manner. And because of that named construction crisis, being forced to run between classes in order to be there on time-- let's just say huffing, puffing, and panting DO NOT suit me.
-Most handshakes. I've been doing interviewing this week for work with my co-workers and there have been some of those, "oh, you're going to shake my hand moments." Plus think about it... sometimes hands are gross. I don't want to shake someones hand where I don't know where it has been!
-Losing things. Gosh that sucks.
I'm sure there is more awkward but for the moment I cannot think of any.

Here is the AWESOME:
-Nailed my piano recital piece tonight. Only messed up once, new record? I think yes.
-Getting wedding money months after getting married.
-I am HEALED. I can eat and drink and breathe! Hallelujah.
-Remembering enough Latin from my choir days to translate quotes from Robert Browning's The Ring and the Book
-Stumping your English teacher with your knowledge of literature. Never thought I'd see that day!
-Box full of fireworks to be used for our ultra awesome camp trip. It'll be Suhhhhweet!
-Having time to cuddle.
-Packages from family. The in-laws totally hooked it up this week with a tent, cheez-its, a totally adorable quilted table decor.
-Finding a bag of quarters. Can anyone say laundry money?
-Making that homemade bread... Ya, I mentioned earlier this week, but REALLY it was that good.
-Finding joy in your major. Can I just say that I love my classes?
-Only having 11 episodes left in the whole series of Lost. Not that I don't love it, but it's time to end it.
-Three day weekends. I'm looking forward to spending time the hubby and good friends. Wish us luck so we don't blow our hands off with the said fireworks Adam got earlier today.

Awkward
(Warning some are gross this time)
1. Farts. Not even going to elaborate on that one.
2. Realizing that you left up one of those "you have to be my best friend to understand I am not a pyscho" conversations on skype when the computer doc opens it up to find your deepest secrets spread across the screen.
3. Explaining to your dad you are out of shape, because you were on your honeymoon and did not exercise at all. Just to have some awkward random lady say, "Ya, sex can really take it out of you!" Uh... hello... can't you tell I'm running WITH MY DAD!!!
4. Laughing when you weren't supposed to. I'm sorry, I laugh when there is an awkward silence.
5. Explaining to husband that he is a LOUD snorer and a blanket hog.

Awesome
1. Husband. Not even going to elaborate on that one, either.
2. Still dating after you are married! Went to Macaroni Grill with one of our gift cards... it was AWESOME!
3. Xbox Kinect. Can you say addicted? Because I can. So stoked we are bringing our big screen, xbox, and kinect (all complements of my in-laws) to school with us. Let us just say there are going to be some major parties up in the Figgat apartment.- neighbors beware!
4. Corned beef. HOLY HECK! Where have you been all my life? Adam's mom makes rockin' corned beef.
5. Staying up late in bed with my hubby watching Law and Order: SVU. Can I get hooray for not ever having to say good night again?
