10 Little Updates

1. I'm teaching at the Madison Middle School this semester a sixth grade natural disasters class. It's easily the hardest, yet most rewarding class I have taken here at BYUI.
2. Adam just got promoted-ish to a paid position as the Marketing Manager for Rec Sports.
3. I'm in the Comm 240 class, so I'm writing a ton of news articles. I'm in charge of covering the Madison School District. Kind of boring...
4. Valentine's was awesome.
5. Our first anniversary is in less than a month!
6. Adam still doesn't have an internship :( so we do not know where we are going to live in a month. Scary. If anyone knows of any internships please email me!
7. I've only been really sick once this semester. It was a sinus infection.
8. We have passes to Targhee and have been enjoying the slopes with our good friends, the Tracys.
9. I'm running out of things to say.
10. I have senioritis.

The end.

My Forever Valentine

Some of the decor from our wedding, but I thought it was appropriate for today :)

Okay, by now everyone is burnt out on reading about Valentines Day. So discontinue if you please, I don't mind.

Adam and I met almost 2 1/2 years ago. Almost a year of that has been spent in marriage. Today, though, I can honestly say that this Valentines Day topped the last two.

Our first, we spent dancing/stargazing in his Grandma's backyard. We exchanged notes and lots of giggles.

Last year we just did cards. Plain and simple. Wasn't great, wasn't bad.

This year, we went all out. It was fun.

Before I got married I was a massive Valentines Day hater. No offense to all of the ex's, but honestly Valentines Day felt like an obligation to me. I was obligated to do something cute and they were obligated to give me something awfully cheesy. I HATED the fake sentiments (including the numerous build-a-bears. Honestly, bears are for little kids) and while I was convinced I was in love with every guy I dated, I don't think I ever understood Valentines Day till today.

I woke up an hour early to cook Adam breakfast in bed. Did I whine? Absolutely not. Would I do that for anyone else? HA! Probably not. But it was in those moments that we sat sharing food-colored-red choco chip waffles and bacon that I found bliss. It was silly, especially since it was before 7 AM, but I was genuinely happy. And for those of you who really know me, you know that can be hard for me.

Later, I found a super cute and perfect childesque card that Adam made. It said "I love you thissssssssssssssss much." Of course it was written on a piece of paper between two hands cut out of scrapbook paper. Then he bought me an mini orchid plant. MY FAVORITE flower. Let's just say I was pleased since I prompted him to get me a bouquet. Little did I know that he knew better than even I did.

I love my husband, and today I fell in love again.

First Valentines as a married couple a success?

Heck yeah.

Love, Evi

Another Mile Marker? Probably Not.

Just a few moments ago, a friend of mine on Facebook pointed out to me that today is the second day of the second week of the second month of the second year of the second decade of the second millennium. Pretty cool. Since it is pretty big day for history and not a very big day for me, I thought it'd be kind of cool to record what I did today... Ya know, for my future kids. lol.

Doing the usual... homework.

I did not go to my first two classes this morning.
I cuddled with my husband and we laughed over nothing.
I went to work and advised roughly three students on how to change their major or graduate.
I taught at the middle school about hurricanes-- it was a total success. :)
I came home to a happy husband.
We started our first load of laundry.
Went to Deseret Industries (Thrift Store) to find a dresser with no luck.
We finished laundry.
I made waffles and eggs for dinner (I really don't like chicken right now).
We watched an episode of "How I Met Your Mother."
I have completed two quizzes tonight and am working on a news article for my newsgathering class.

Uneventful? Yes.

In a way though, that's the way I like it.
