Wedding Madness

Okay. This will be the last post where I talked about the wedding (well at least till I get the pictures). I must, must, MUST break free.
That being said... here we go!!
My day was absolutely perfect. The night before my best friend, Emily Larsen, rolled into town and we got to have one last sleepover. I hadn't slept for the prior two nights, but having Em there really calmed my nerves and proudly slept for a full 7 hours. :) Talk about relief!
Then on top of it everyone was on time. I ate my favorite food (strawberries) for breakfast. Hair lady was on time and everything was good until I realized that it was 9:30. The exact time that I had to be at the Newport Beach Temple. I panicked and insisted that I drive us to the temple (trust me, it helped my nerves).
We met with the temple president upon our arrival and then I got into my temple clothes. We sat in the Celestial Room, quiet before the storm, and truly had a great private moment. It was so peaceful.
We were sealed at 11 AM and I didn't cry during the entire ceremony. I do have to admit thought, the only time that I did cry the entire day, was when we were allowed to hug everyone as they exited the room. The love that I felt was overwhelming. I felt love for my new husband, love for my God, and love for everyone in that room.
Next, came the slew of pictures. 2 HOURS WORTH. Gosh we died. We were starving, but I have a feeling that the pictures will turn out AMAZING (we have to wait a few weeks to get them back). We proceeded to go to the luncheon where we found out that everyone had waited for us for over an hour to eat. Oops!!
Adam's mom organized the luncheon and it was a ton of fun to relax and eat with our guests. It was good friend time and it was a ton of fun to have everyone I love in the same room.
We had two hours of down time, then started back up.
The reception was incredibly beautiful. Props to my mom, everyone who helped set up, and Natalie Affleck (she made all of the floral arrangements.
The reception was SO much fun. I was able to actually enjoy it. There are few things that people told me that ended up being true. One, you are starving. Two, you are exhausted. Three, you can't stop smiling. Four, standing in the receiving line is tiring. Five, it is the best day of your life.
Truly it was. I love my husband so much. I love my family for the wonderful wedding and support they provide.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday :)

Hello blogger world. :) Guess what?! I, Eviane Noel Hayhurst, am marrying Adam Robert Figgat in T-minus 22 1/2 hours. Eeeek!! I am so unbelievably excited. So to celebrate... today there will be no awkward just AWESOME!

Here we go...

1. Getting your nails done (especially bright pink)!
2. Knowing that in less than 8 hours you will be reunited with your bestie.
3. the knowledge of knowing that you will be on a cruise in three days with your new husband. :) Goodbye weight watchers, slim fast, lean cuisine, and calorie counting. Hello 2 AM pizza, soft serve, and diet coke :) OH and not to mention tanning all day everyday!
4. Writing vows (for the ring ceremony) and genuinely meaning it. (Do you guys want to read mine? I'll copy it into the post at the end.)
5. Sisters. End of story. Jenelle (littlest sis) has been my shadow and partner in crime the last two days she is definitely redefining bridesMAID. I also love how I can call Cerissa (middle sis), and she can make me smile and miss her so much within the first thirty seconds of the conversation. I love them so so so much.
6. Getting a little Daddy-Daughter time. :) Enough said.
7. Getting your bridal portraits back and being insanely pleased with them! (No I will not post them, it has to be a surprise how awesome Adam and I look tomorrow!)
8. Knowing that tomorrow is the beginning of forever with my best friend, confidant, and partner in crime. Cannot believe that after all my whining that we would never get married, the day has finally come. :) After counting down from 167 days to 1, the time has flown by.
9. Going through the LDS Temple for the first time. San Diego is seriously one the prettiest temple and it was cool to be surrounded by my family. :)
10. Love. Love is the definition of awesome.

Well, I love you all, especially if you are reading this. ;) I'll blog when I get back from my honeymoon to Mexico!!!

Here are the vows I promised...

A year and a half ago I thought I was doing fairly well in life. I arrived at BYU-Idaho with the expectations that I would date quite a few boys before falling in love. Never did I imagine myself marrying the first boy that asked me out on a date at school. I knew that when you did not kiss me on the first, second, or even third date- you were a keeper. You are unlike any other boy I have dated. You respect me, you make me laugh, and you help me to be better. I knew that I was in trouble when you were the first to volunteer to take care of me when I was genuinely sick and have volunteered ever since, but I knew I was really in trouble when I couldn’t see the rest of my life without you. You are truly a very patient man, and for that I am grateful. You are a good listener, consoler, and best friend. After tell you time and time again, “I can’t wait for forever”, forever is here before us and I vow to be yours for forever.
Gordon B. Hinckley once said, "If every husband and every wife would constantly do whatever might be possible to ensure the comfort and happiness of his or her companion, there would be very little, if any, divorce. Argument would never be heard. Accusations would never be leveled. Angry explosions would not occur. Rather, love and concern would replace abuse and meanness." With that being said I promise you that I will love you through every difficult trial. I will always do my best to make you happy and feel my love. Along with this, I promise to do as follows:
1. I will listen. I will listen when you come home from work and things went less than ideal. I will listen to your crazy and endless dreams. I will listen to the good and bad experiences you take part in throughout our life.
2. I will be kind. I will cease to be judgmental. I will be patient. I will bite my tongue when my blatantly honest demeanor shines through.
3. I will set aside my seriousness and laugh with you at least once a day, no matter what.
4. I will always seek to be my best spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
5. I will stand by you. I will be your companion as you seek after your various degrees, first job, and promotions. I will stand by you when you are sick in bed. I will stand by you when we have our first child. Above all, I will stand by you for the rest of forever.
I love you Adam so much. I am so excited to be your wife.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Since about four and I repeat FOUR blogs in my reader posted a post about "Awkward and Awesome Thursday", I have decided to be a copycat and do it too. :)

So here we go...

Awkward
-Walking out of your bedroom in your pajamas to find 10 construction workers standing in front of you...
-Undressing in your room only to find that you forgot to shut the blinds.
-Being stuck on a couch (while halfway sleeping) hearing someone in the room make out. (not to mention totally gross)
-Forgetting someone's birthday. (If you're reading this I'M SORRY!!!!)

Awesome

-My soon to be husband calling just to say I love you.
-Uploading pictures that make you smile
-Cuddling while watching Law and Order SVU with my soon to be hubby (8 DAYS)
-Making yet another headband that I do NOT need. But it is so cute!!!

-Having a completely perfect bridals/groomals session with... dare I say it? My soon to be husband, Adam (haha okay I'll stop now).
-The fact that I am going through the LDS San Diego Temple for the first time this weekend.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Eleven

The title of this post is "Eleven".
Why? This is because eleven is a significant number today.
Eleven by Sandra Cisneros is one of my favorite short stories ever.
You can read it here
It embodies exactly how I feel.
I am twenty years two months and fifteen days young.
The whole idea of the short story is that even though you are so many years old there is still the child that is living inside of you.
For example, I am 20, 19, 18, 17... 4, 3, 2, and 1 years old and ALWAYS WILL BE.
There are somedays that I act my age. Today is NOT one of them.
Today I have decided I am eleven.
There are eleven days till I marry Adam.
The nerves have officially kicked in. I am scared- crapless.
I know what I am doing is right but I am handling it like an eleven year old.
I have successfully watched part of Anastasia today, ate yogurt and strawberries, then topped it off with my soon to be mother-in-law's delicious brownies. I have accomplished NADA.
I currently am sitting in bed, typing this blog, venting it out in attempts to reconnect with my inner twenty year old.
Eleven or twenty- either way I am going to marry Adam Figgat for all eternity in eleven days. I am excited. :)
