Update: Where the Figgats have been for the last six months

Greetings! We decided we should include an update on everything that has occurred these last few months. I ended up graduating cum laude, which was super exciting for me. Nerdy, but true. In case you didn't know, we moved to Salt Lake City, Utah immediately following graduation where I completed my student teaching assignment at Cyprus High School (Pirate Pride!). My time as a student teacher included some of the most rewarding times in my life. The kids that I taught really made a difference in my life. Also, I feel like I really found what I want to do with my rest of my life. I love being a teacher! During the few months that we lived in Utah, Adam did freelance marketing work. After our time in Salt Lake ended, we decided to move to (drum roll, please) Rexburg, Idaho. While we did not expect to ever move back to the city of our Alma Mater, we could not be happier to be back. I was offered an adjunct faculty position at BYU-Idaho, where I will teach English starting Fall 2013. Adam is continuing freelance work for the time being. Thus, it will be at least a few more frigid winters for us in the frozen tundra called Rexburg. We hope all is well with all who read these words.

Love,
Evi

Here are some pictures from our time in Utah...
first day as a student teacher

Tara & Ryan came to visit/ski with us at Canyons

We dated a lot, considering we had only a few friends and not very much time in Utah.

Love these boys, even when Jeremy farted... a lot ;)

Tuesday night was Taco Tuesday and Del Taco was the only place that we could find that upheld such a tradition

Valentine's Day: Dinner at Normandie and we saw Warm Bodies

Said goodbye to my little sister before she left on her mission

My family came to visit!

I got new skis, which I used all the time thanks to our passes at Canyons

This is Lil' Sebastian. I drove past him everyday on my way to work.

We had our two year anniversary! We celebrated by going to Texas de Brazil (thanks to Groupon).

We went to St. George & hiked Angel's Landing.

Yeah, I climbed that ridge.

My Fisherman

I loved all of the gorgeous tulips in Utah, especially the ones at Temple Square.

Salt Lake City LDS Temple

My cousins built riot shields and shot BB guns at us. Super fun :)

We lived in East Millcreek, which gave us a perfect view of the sunset each night.

I taught the Valiant 10/11 class.  It was my favorite calling thus far.

Chilling in Grandma's basement aka home

Also, we lived across from 7-11. It was a bit of a problem. Slurpee lovers for life!

Wise Men Say

Wise men say only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love with you.

Between falling in love and getting married, some say that we might have rushed it.

Nevertheless, I am so happy with the way that we have done things.

We've been married for almost sixteen months.

We've been together for twenty-nine months.

We still have eternities to be together.

My life has never been better than it is now.

Shout out to the hubs that I absolutely adore.

My Favorite Birthday Boy

Stoked to get his Triton headphones for his Xbox.

Yep, the boy models, but only when it is gaming related.

Brownie "Cake" at the Figgat Celebration

His Birthday Dinner of Choice at Lucille's

Awful pic, but the only one of the whole fam from Adam's bday.

Adam turned 25 on Wednesday. Crazy. It's amazing that this is the third birthday of his that we have been able to celebrate together. I think I love Adam's birthday way more than mine. It's much more fun to buy him gifts. Plus, he lets me go all out for his birthday. With two celebrations completed, even he admits that this was a birthday for the books. His loot included the headphones, three shirts, swim trunks, shorts, and an awesome Thai dinner with his sister and our bro-in-law.
Happy birthday, Adam!

Love,
Evi

To My Dear and Loving Husband on the First Day of Your Internship

To My Dear and Loving Husband on the First Day of Your Internship [totally channelling Bradstreet right now],
Thou art on public transit at this moment in time in the large metropolis called Los Angeles.
Despite it's name, The City of Angels, we both know there is nothing angelic about it.
The streets are dirty. It is loud. Everything is overpriced; yet, there you are walking down the street it your striking full suit with your new briefcase.
I picture men dressed as if they were in Mad Men.
But I guess in a sense you're a Mad Man, too.
You're working from the bottom up as a marketer.
But you have always been a marketer to me. You marketed your good looks, charm, and incredible charisma from the get go, and I bought the product.
I bought the product and will never think to return it.
You see, it is because you make me one proud wife, especially today.
Love,
Evi

One Year Anniversary

March 18 marked our one year wedding anniversary.

We had a good weekend. We slept in two days in a row till roughly noon.

I was sick Saturday and Sunday, but honestly, having a weekend in felt just right.

One year ago we tore up the dance floor
And partied with friends and family.

My stack of gifts from Adam. The gifts included a sequin skirt that I've been dying for, Diet Coke, Reese's egg, The Help on DVD, and an adorable mauve shirt with lace accents. He got Mass Effect 3 (video game).

We did go down to Olive Garden for a date. He took me to Olive Garden the night that he proposed.

We also made corned beef the night before our actual anniversary to celebrate St. Patty's Day.

One year later, I definitely love that husband of mine.
